Aboriginal Heritage Tasmania (AHT) aims to protect and promote Tasmania’s unique Aboriginal heritage and facilitate the return of land to Tasmania’s Aboriginal people. The team works in partnership with Aboriginal communities, government, industry and the wider public to ensure that cultural places, stories and landscapes are recognised, respected and preserved for future generations.

AHT administers the​ Aboriginal H​eritage Act 1975​, which establishes the Aboriginal Heritage Council of Tasmania, the Aboriginal Lands Act 1995, which establishes the Aboriginal Land Council of Tasmania, and the Native Title (Tasmania) Act 1994.

Successful candidates will have a real opportunity to contribute to meaningful outcomes that support Aboriginal people’s connection to Country and strengthen awareness of Tasmania’s rich cultural heritage.

Aboriginal Heritage Advisor (340800)

In this permanent role you will support and strengthen the management, recognition and protection of Tasmania’s unique Aboriginal cultural heritage.

Classification: General Stream Band 3

Salary: $74,783 to $80,835 pro rata, per annum

Project Support Officer (710096)

In this fixed term role you will provide policy, project management and administrative support to Aboriginal Heritage Tasmania, contributing to wide range of heritage initiatives.

Classification: General Stream Band 4

Salary: $83,011 to $95,547 pro rata, per annum
