About Tasmanian Audit Office

The Tasmanian Audit Office is a State entity which assists the Auditor-General to provide an independent view of the financial and operational performance of State entities. This is done by conducting financial (attest) and performance, or other audits and investigations and by reporting to Parliament.

The Tasmanian Audit Office is a challenging and exciting place to work. The Tasmanian Audit Office has four divisions which provide our services

  • Financial Audit Services – This unit undertakes annual financial audits of public sector agencies.
  • Performance Audit Services – This unit generally conducts performance and compliance audits. Performance audits deal with any aspects of an organisation's effectiveness, economy, efficiency or compliance with relevant legislation while a compliance audit seeks to confirm that specific legislation, directions and regulations have been adhered to by public sector agencies.
  • Corporate Support Services – This unit provides internal services for the Audit Office, such as; financial and budget management, information management and administrative support services.
