Disability Services is a program of the Human Services Group within the Department of Health and Human Services.
Key features of Disability Workers are to provide clients with:
- Experiences and activities that will improve the quality of their lives, both at home and in the community;
- Help to develop a range of practical skills so they can make choices and decisions; Opportunities to develop interpersonal skills necessary to form relationships; Basic support and physical care so that they can live in good health and as independently as possible.
We are looking for individuals with the following qualities:
- Have experience or interest in working with people with disabilities, families, and service providers;
- Has a positive attitude towards people with disabilities;
- Appreciation of the importance of consulting with clients and responding to their individual needs to join and be part of our dynamic team;
- Has satisfactory completed Certificate 3 in Community Services & Health (Disability Work) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised academic/training organisation or progress towards attaining this qualification.

Essential Requirements -
The Commissioner has determined that the person nominated for this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
1) Conviction check in the following areas: a) Crimes of violence; b) Sex related offences; c) Serious drug offences; and d) Crimes involving dishonesty.
2) Identification check.
3) Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
